We've purchased 4 Buhr homes!

We moved from Colorado to Nebraska 25 years ago and our first Buhr Home was a pre-existing home built by Dan. We’d heard of Buhr Homes’ reputation and knew the quality and excellence that it carried. Our second experience with building was with Ken Emmons and Dan Buhr, and we could not have been more pleased with the process, outcome, and continued excellence. Believe it or not, we continued to purchase and build two more Buhr Homes, which is only further emphasis of our belief in the quality, service and standards of the homes Dan builds. Dan, Ken, and the Buhr Homes team made the experience very enjoyable for our family.

Ken Emmons Went above and beyond

​Buhr Homes and Ken Emmons made our home-building experience a very simple process, which was contrary to what everyone said to expect with building a new home. From the beginning, Ken was very astute and understanding of what our needs were, and proceeded to select many homes that we could visit to get a feel for the quality of a Buhr Home. After we decided what type of home we wanted, Ken spent numerous hours with us, making sure all our home needs were met. He spent extra time offering creative ideas, such as including a sundeck, a hot tub deck, a custom-designed kitchen island, and even making sure each and every electrical outlet would be convenient for us. Any time we had a question, Ken was eager to help or would know where to refer us for the answer. At no time did we ever feel we were just another customer that needed to be rushed through the building process. We had never built a home before and would not hesitate to recommend Ken Emmons and Dan Buhr to build a home for anyone.

Throughout our build with Buhr, every interaction confirmed that all the folks who work with them care about constructing custom homes with lasting quality.

Communication was transparent. Emails were returned within a day - no matter how long winded our questions or far fetched our concerns.

Pricing was fair and upfront. Standards included in the base price were generous. We especially love the hardwood floors, cabinets, and large windows. The only increases in cost were enhancements we requested. We even got credits back when items came in under quote. Their designer, Ruth, helped us achieve a coherent vision for the home while staying on budget.

Construction time was well managed. We closed on the exact day we signed for at commencement.

This was our first time building a home and our first time buying a home at all. Buhr provided guidance and peace of mind throughout the entire process. All the more impressive because we built in 2021 during a pandemic while supply chains, labor, and housing markets were in chaos.
